A group of professionals concerned about environmental, energy and food problems, convinced of being able to apply all their technical, professional and business experience to solving these problems, decided to form a joint project for the treatment of Household Solid Waste for which developed WENT technology that allows, through the application of the most modern technologies, to obtain, from the treatment of this waste, derivatives such as recyclable material, renewable energies, bio fertilizers, balanced feed for animals and dietary supplements with high protein content, among others. The inorganic fraction of the RSD recovered, called “Recyclables”, reabsorbed by the market, has a commercial value again (cardboard, glass, plastic, metal, etc.). The Organic fraction of the RSD obtained in the first stage of the process (FORSU - Organic Phase of Household Solid Waste), will produce Biogas and Biofertilizer obtained from fermentation under anaerobic conditions. The first as a gaseous fuel (energy source) and the second as nutrients for agriculture (determined by the parameters of use and application that govern biofertilizers on the market).

Another objective is to implement a first solution to the management of the FORSU, in order to put them in value in the shortest possible time. FORSU represents approximately 40 to 60% of the total RSD collected. It is possible to put them to use and add value to them. The FORSU obtained from the first stage of the process is treated in a controlled room where anaerobic bacteria process the organic matter releasing gases (GHGs) which contain methane, a fuel element. By purifying it, it is possible to generate energy (heat and electricity), also resulting in a pasty liquid (with a total solids content of around 20-30%) that can be used as a soil amendment or improver (biofertilizer) that a in turn they can be used as nutrients for the cultivation of algae. The volume of waste that a society generates (approximately 0.80 kg to 1.2 kg average per inhabitant) affects the sustainability of our way of life in a negative way, so it is extremely important to maximize the amount of recycled waste, both those marketable (recyclable) such as biodegradable, through this WENT technology that we propose.

A first phase of analysis and survey of the current state of the RSD and its relationship with the project (logistics, budgets, technologies, professionals involved, etc.) of the Model Treatment Plant is proposed for valuation of FORSU, generation of Biogas, Biofertilizer and greenhouses for the cultivation of Algae (spirulina), ratifying the data that a priori currently have, as well as the sizing of the plants (biogas, fertilizers, balanced food for animals and greenhouses for algae cultivation). Taking approximate values ​​of quantities and qualities of the RSD, the volume in cubic meters (m3) of necessary biodigestion can be pre-dimensioned, thus obtaining an estimated volume of BIOGAS and BIOFERTILIZER that the installation would produce and, concomitantly, the volume of ALGAE to produce as well as everything related to the areas of separation, logistics, etc.
